Jason Bornhorst

I'm an entrepreneur based in Austin. I've spent my career building companies in regulated markets—healthcare, fintech, and education.

I led product at Mobiata (acquired by Expedia, 2010). I co-founded Patient IO (acquired by athenahealth, 2016) and First Dollar (acquired by Inspira Financial, 2025).

I studied computer science and entrepreneurship at Michigan, where I founded Michigan's student startup incubator, TechArb, and co-founded DoGood (acquired by Tonic, 2010). I spend a lot of time with Michigan students, and received the University's ZEAL award recognizing a lifetime of entrepreneurial service.

These days I work with companies through Bornhorst Ventures, on everything from AI and growth to interim executive roles. I also help founders with startup M&A through Exitwise.

Outside of work, I'm part of Vocaré, a community of men and women doing deeper work on purpose, relationships, and the rest of life. I help bring in new members and I'm training as a facilitator.
